A new project “Healthy eating” This project started a month ago with a survey about our students` eating habits. At the English lessons 100 boys and girls were asked 10 questions: what they usually eat for breakfast, why they do not eat at the school dining room etc. This project was initiated by Estonian Rugby Federation, which co-operates with us for several years already. Then a chef of a famous Tallinn restaurant (rugby player, of course) came to our Gymnasium, tasted the usual lunch and suggested some ideas how to make it better. Some days later he invited 14 students and 3 teachers to “Pegasus” for a “school lunch” prepared by the “silver spoon” winner Micael Mooah. It was hard to believe but this delicious meal cost only 7 kroons! We enjoyed the meal and wished all the lunches in our Gymnasium were like this! The grown-up guests (local authorities, teachers, trainers, journalists)discussed the possibilities to make school lunches better.

"As you like it"
On 28th October about 60 students and teachers from our Gymnasium visited Russian Drama Theatre. We saw "As you like it" by William Shakespear. The famous actors Ivashkevitch and Tomann as well as the young "MHAT" actors played in the performance. And the role of Ronaldo was played by Dmitri Pchela, who had left our Gymnasium 3 years ago. When we return from the holidays, we are going to discuss the visit and the performance. (P.S.You can see some useful words and questions for discussion on the site with dialogues))

I saw the queen.
The “Estonia sings” concert on Tallinn`s Town Hall Square was to celebrate the historic Royal visit. A 700-member choir, selected especially for the occasion from all over Estonia offered a glimpse into the country`s unique tradition of choral music. They sang 3 Estonian and 1 English song. The queen was given flowers and a gift from Tallinn people, a woolen scarf. She also signed in the Book for Guests of Honour of Tallinn. Sasha Koreshkova from Class 9-A was also there, singing in the choir.

A school visit to Toila and Kuremae
the morning. In about 3 hours, at midday, we stopped at the Toila Spa hotel to pick up our teachers, and then we finally arrived at Toila. On the way we made a few stops to see the old churches and other interesting things. After a small excursion we turned back. We also made a couple of stops, the Kuremae Monastery, for example. The people got to know the history of the monastery, some prayed at the church, others brought bottles of Holy Water back with them. By 7.30 pm we got back to Tallinn. Everyone was exhausted after the trip, but it was worth of it. Here is a picture of us standing by one of the Toila Caverns :
